Counsellor – Siew Han

As a counsellor, Han adopts a humanistic and emphatic stance when helping individuals empower themselves. She believes that people have the capacity of solving their own problems, and sees her role as assisting individuals to identify obstacles and overcome struggles in their paths.
Working mainly from a multidisciplinary framework, she tailors each client’s treatment according to their needs and integrates elements from different approaches such as psychodynamic, cognitive & behavioural, interpersonal, and/or skills based when needed. She is passionate in guiding clients to achieve better insight to their lives and helping individuals to improve on interpersonal skills to better connect with important people in their lives. Prior to starting private practice as a counsellor, Siew Han has accumulated experience in both school (for the intellectually disabled), and inpatient hospital settings.

 

Siew Han holds a Master’s degree in Counselling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and has had received training in Cognitive & Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Person-Centred and Psychodynamic approaches. To ensure that clients receive the best care, she is committed to continuing professional development, supervision and collaboration with other professionals. Siew Han is a member of the Association of Psychotherapist and Counsellors (APAC) in Singapore.
