RELATIONSHIP ISSUES

Counselling and psychotherapy services provide a supportive environment for individuals or couples facing relationship issues. We focus on the challenges faced when addressing conflicts, help improve communication, and strengthen emotional connections.

How can Therapy help with Interpersonal/Relationship issues

  • Developing Relationship Skills:  equips individuals with the skills and tools needed to cultivate a strong and resilient relationship. This includes skills such as empathy, compromise, problem-solving, and emotional regulation.
  • Enhancing Intimacy: Intimacy encompasses emotional, physical, and sexual connection. We work with individuals to deepen intimacy by fostering emotional closeness, improving communication about needs, and addressing barriers to intimacy.
  • Addressing Individual Issues: Past experiences, such as childhood trauma, neglect, or dysfunctional family dynamics, can significantly impact interpersonal relationships in adulthood. Therapy offers a healing space for individuals to process and heal from past wounds, allowing them to cultivate healthier relationships in the present.
  • Increased Self-Awareness: Therapy provides a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in relationships. Through self-reflection and insight gained in therapy, individuals can better understand their interpersonal patterns and dynamics

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it” – rumi

RELATIONSHIP issues & INTERPERSONAL conflicts can lead to isolation, loneliness, and despair as we are social beings.

Difficulties in sustaining meaningful interpersonal relationships can arise in our interaction with others, in social settings, and within organisations.

Some of us have issues in the realm of intimacy. The idea of being intimate with others can result in anxiety due to a fear of intimacy. This fear of intimacy can result in a lack of success in developing and maintaining gratifying relationships

Interpersonal and/or Relationship issues can also arise from

  • Negative beliefs about ourselves and other people
  • Different ways in which people communicate, share their feelings, and their ways of dealing with conflict
  • Fears of vulnerability, abandonment, or are just simply uncomfortable with the idea of getting close to someone.
